Charging Your LYNQ E-Bike: The Complete GuideUpdated 13 days ago

Properly charging your battery is the most important step to ensure long-lasting performance, safety, and reliable rides for your LYNQ e-bike. All LYNQ models feature a 48V architecture designed for higher torque and consistent range.

Charging Basics

  • Use the Original Charger: Only use the official charger provided with your LYNQ bike. Using third-party or incompatible chargers can lead to overheating, permanent battery damage, and will void your warranty.
  • Connection Sequence: To prevent sparking, always plug the charger into the battery or bike's charging port first, and then plug it into the wall outlet.
  • Disconnecting: Once fully charged, reverse the process: unplug the charger from the wall first, then from the battery.

Optimal Charging Conditions

  • Temperature Matters: Charge your battery in a dry, indoor environment between 10°C and 25°C (50°F – 77°F).
  • Never Charge Below Freezing: If you’ve been riding in the cold, bring the battery inside and let it reach room temperature naturally before plugging it in.
  • Post-Ride Cooling: Never charge a hot battery immediately after a ride. Let it cool for about 30 minutes to protect the internal cells.

Understanding Your Battery's Health

  • The 80/20 Rule: For daily use, keeping your charge between 20% and 80% is the best way to extend the overall lifespan of your battery.
  • Avoid "Deep Discharges": Try to recharge your bike when it reaches around 30% capacity. Letting the battery drain completely to 0% stresses the lithium cells and can shorten their lifespan.
  • No Overnight Charging: While modern Battery Management Systems (BMS) prevent overcharging, we do not recommend leaving your bike plugged in overnight or unattended.

Charging time

  • Charging Time: A full charge (0% to 100%) typically takes between 3 to 6 hours depending on the specific model and battery size.

Pro Tip: If you aren't planning to ride for a while (e.g., during winter storage), store your battery at 40–60% charge and check it every 2–3 months to ensure it stays healthy.
